You know the best thing about aeroplanes? Apart from the peanuts in the little silver bags, I mean. It's looking out of the windows at the clouds, and thinking, maybe I could go walking in there. Maybe it's a special place where everything's okay. Sometimes I do go walking in the clouds. But it's just cold and wet and empty, but when you look out of a plane it's a special world... and I like that.

This character created by Neil Gaiman is an amazing person (yes just like me).. in fact Gaiman is a nice guy.. he co-authored Good Omens with Terry Pratchett.. he is not as good as TP in my opinion but he is "interesting" (and he has nice hair ya Chris :) just like Jim Carrey! :) actually Gaiman's hair is muuuch nicer.. check the link)

now this link has a funny story.. i was talking to Chris on msn about Fuddruckers and then at the same time we started talking about their relish.. ok it might not sound funny now when am telling it but seriously it was funny back then :) and then i searched wikipedia for Relish.. i search wikipedia for EVERYTHING aslan! :)

I got a book for Terry Pratchett yesterday (TP is the guy who wrote "The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents" and co-authored Good Omens with Neil Gaiman :P).. The book is another Discworld novel, called Eric (actually the 1st page has Faust striked over and corrected as Eric :) it's a twsited variation of the Faust story) .. it seems very cool so far..

w eih kaman... Ah Karembu, somsin to tease you about.. Stephen Hawking is coming to Egypt, he is lecturing in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina from 4-6 June. Sherif, Mai and my humble self plan to go isA :) here is the announcement:

zah2an.... dont feel like blogging.. so i will just put a couple of points w khalass..

• Sunday i will get a new manager.. not very cool news.. Chris says that am magnifying the issue.. Akeed i am, it is _my_ issue ya3ni :D Seriously, it's just that my boss got promoted to VP (there was no such position before bcoz the company was muuuuuuuuuuch smaller), so they got us a new HR manager.. havent met him yet, but in the last dept meeting i seriously expressed my discomfort which made them laugh actually.. i went like "so will we meet with him afterwards in the dept meetings?" (i just said "him", no names! :)) fa they thought i was being too touchy about it and in denial and all.. we will see how he turns out... Am starting to try and be positive about it..
• Friday we're going to a play in AUC with May & Sherif.. Silly Goose it's called.. we will see how that turns out.. hopefully it will be cool. I already saw a good review.
• Today was the corporate picture day.. it was ok. My hair was mega "mankoosh" but it might turn out fine.
• Today i was planning to go to a concert in sa2ya with Mai and Sherif but i dont know if i will finish early enough to go.. but then again, i think i should! after all, if i have time to write my blog, i should find time to work!

i didnt find a title for today's blog so i thought i would paste whatever is in my clipboard... it was a song called "Honey, am alright".. country a bit but cool..

the day started off as me waking up sooooo not wanting to go to work! anyway so i get up and go to work.. its kinda hot w keda....
anyway.. so am talking to a friend of mine about me dying to be somewhere else right now (a hotel room with A/C on max, comfy bed, pool or sea view, a good book, and plenty of juice).. he says it's unattainable BUT we can go to Cilantro instead :)
faaaa, we set off for Cilantro in Carrefour for a latte :) was very very very nice and i got the orange juice i was dreaming of for 2 days :)

we go pick nevine from helio club because she missed bus and we keep talking about how we're DYING to travel! Nevine and i shared a lovely couple of days in an amazing hotel in Dahab.. so we're just day-dreaming about their lovely breakfast and waffles and all :)


hmmmmmmmmmm.... Chris the one sitting behind me finally finally made a blog! An "interesring" character indeed.. I have a good eye in people, and seriously when i first saw him i thought "this guy is gooooood".. i am not saying that because i know he will read it.. I mean it is a _big_ part of why am saying this of course but it's not the only reason... he really is _cool_.. yesterday i told him he reminds me of Karim, and anyone who knows me, knows that this is the nicest thing i can tell to anyone :)
Anyway, apparently he actually is "gooooood" :) nice music, nice thoughts, and a fun person to talk to... too bad he will be leaving in a couple of months.. he also likes Galaxy plain chocolate like me :)

w eih kaman.... hmmmmm... almost zero productivity till now... need to sit with my manager about somsin and he is in alex today fa am really waiting for him.....

anyway, i go try to finish some stuff........

anyhow... i went to Hitch yesterday with mai w sherif w ablaha Sherif Hussein invited a group of us (3ala 7esab el shoghl) to El Kababgy grill in Gezira Sheraton for our efforts in the Wolympix (the sports day)....

anyway am sleepy and have plenty of work to finish w keda... sooooooooooooooooooo

mood is good elhamdulelah.. some people are being extra nice for no good reason, fa its cool...

as for the "other" issue ya karim, am being treated like royalty, and am sick of it shewaya (doing the "shewaya" with my fingers keda like we used to do it)...

Friday i was in Shahinaz wedding and i soooooooooo wished you were there ya Karim.. but i really dont know why ya3ni.. you wouldnt have danced with me *angry offended face* but then again it might have resulted in me dancing with a nice one ;)

(the story for those who dont know it is that in Du's engagement i asked Karim to dance and he turned me down! but anyway it resulted in me dancing avec un autre gentleman who spotted my willingness to dance :))

Bits & Pieces..

When it rains, it pours.. and when i wished for rain, i had to be more specific about my wish.. (like i didnt specify i wanted water not frogs.. actually i wanted frogs -going by the Frog Prince theme- and it rained hmmmm, normal people!)
I remember in Hong Kong (i sound like i lived there whereas i only spent a week).. anyway I remember in HK when it used to rain (i.e. every 2-3 hours) i always kept saying the song "It's Raining Men".. cool song...

I got two tapes yesterday, one for Tori Amos.. i just got it because Neil Gaiman (the one who wrote Coraline ya Karim :P i always do that with Karim.. i tell him Terry Pratchet then i proceed to explain that TP is the man whom he got me his book "The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents" as if he has the memory span of a goldfish :) which he doesnt... but i still dont know why or rather HOW he forgot my birthday) so NG says that Tori Amos and Delirium "steal from each other shamelessly" (in character that is).. fa since am Delirium i thought i must like TA.
The other tape i got is a Ray Charles thing.. its a tape keda that has his duets with other people (norah jones, natalie cole, bb king, elton john, etc etc).. i think thats a good one..

w eih kaman.... hmmmm.... Let's talk about Corba.. in May (i think) Masr El Gedida *a.k.a Heliopolis* will be 100 years old! cooool :)
So, to celebrate this, they decided to renovate Corba! so they painted it and fixed it all over thru fundraising campaigns... weirdly enough, its not as bad as it sounds.. It's actually "okay".. of course it lost a little of its initial charm.. but it was nicely done.. they even had these little same-color, same design boxes for air-conditioners that were painted like the buildings :) fa its cool..

April was always a weird month for me.. it's just so transparent (dustily transparent sometimes) keda.. i dont know....

hmmmm, Prince Rainier of Monaco passed away.. a nice guy i think.. rich too... ;)

busy busy time :)

Just checked Karembu's site.. found out he was depressed because he saw "Million Dollar Baby"... hmmmm i went to that movie with Sherif & Mai based on Sherif's choice (Sherif saw Bridget Jones II for our sake so we _really_ owe the guy :)). Anyway, when i saw it, it really depressed me too... but i looooooooved it! :)

My weekend ba'a... Thursday was nice.. went out with sherif & mai and heba el ta77an and heba el shimi... usually its our movie night.. but the hebas didnt agree wiz us on a movie so we just went to chilis city stars.. friday was kinda cool.. i had Du's sister engagment. i had my hair done since like 4 and didnt know how i'd go.. then i arranged with a friend to pick me up on her way around 9:30.. she came 11!!!!!! (and i was actually ready around 9:30 ya Karim... ehmm, well at 9:45 ya3ni... before 11 w khalass :D) which kind of pissed me big time because i wanted to go muuuuch earlier.. but it was nice..
Saturday the company's sports thing was mega cool.. i was a moderator so i couldnt play... but Yasmine's team won.. her gift was a 2 person dinner @ 4 seasons (maybe she'd pick me as her date :))
yesterday i paid my cellular bill finally!!! :) then i went to Marriott Bakery in Corba (i dont like it but cool) with a friend of mine and his friend.. had a really good time and many many laughs..

i came to work early today to prepare for the newcomers' orientation and am writing my blog now!!! fa i gotta go...... more updates later :)
